Aunty Matilda retires after 37 years of service
SIGA bids farewell to Madam Matilda Lamptey one of its longest serving employees.
Matilda Lamptey affectionately called in SIGA as Otsokobila or Aunty Matty brought her 37 years of service to the Authority to an end early this year.
She joined the then State Enterprises Commission as a Customer Service Executive in 1985 and worked tirelessly till her retirement 2022.
A citation that was presented in her honour read:
“It is with great pride that we appreciate the great accomplishment you brought to bear during your long service with the State Enterprise Commission (SEC), now State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA).
You are leaving an indelible mark of punctuality, sweet smiles, and great sense of humility, from the year 1985 you served with commitment till you retired early this year, 2022.
Your contribution and dedication to work is priceless. Your mentoring role in the lives of many staff, both young and old, is immeasurable.
We will miss you for your high level of competence and high sense of humour towards work and the people around you.
Your deep knowledge in Customer Service was also beyond compare and we the staff of SIGA will miss you so much.”
In a short ceremony, Management and Staff took turns to eulogise Aunty Matty for her hard work, commitment and the principles she stood for.
Gifts were presented to her by Management and Staff of the Authority. She was also joined by the SIGA family to cut a cake.
Otsokobila, was overwhelmed with the show of love and thanked Management and Staff for the recognition given her. She also prayed that the work of SIGA would be successful and that the Authority would soar to greater heights.
