Director-General advises BOST Board

The recently sworn-in Board of Bulk Oil and Transportation Limited (BOST) has been charged by the Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), Hon Asamoah-Boateng, to get their mandate right.

The Director-General made these remarks when he joined the Minister for Energy, Hon. Mathew Opoku Prempeh at the swearing-in ceremony today, 6th August, 2021 at the Ministry’s Conference Room.

The nine-member Board has Mr. Ekow Hackman as Chairman and the following as members:

Mr. Edwin Alfred Provencal (Managing Director), Mr. Bright Okyere Agyekum, Prof. Kofi Osei Akuoko, Mrs. Francisca Aba Adisson, Hon. Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, Mrs. Joyce Attafuah, Mr. Emmanuel Tandoh and Nana Owusu Afriyie IV.

Hon. Asamoah-Boateng also praised Edwin Provencal for turning around the fortunes of BOST. “I realize it will be difficult to persuade you to pay dividends, but it is the only way we can recoup any of the government’s investment in you,” he asserted.

Hon. Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh

He thanked the outgone board for their service and delivered the Presidents gratitude.

I anticipate continuity and expect this Board to function as a team, Dr. Mathew opined!

“The president trusts your integrity and commitment to work. If you work as a team, you can get my 100% support’

We can ensure that BOST becomes the best-managed institution in the country by working together with SIGA.

Board’s Remarks

We appreciate the Minister’s faith in us, and we appreciate the President’s support for us through SIGA.

We’d also want to thank the late Managing Directors, Mr. George Okley and Nana Yaw Owusu, for their contributions to BOST’s transformation.

The Board attested, that BOST is not the same as the destitute, crumbling infrastructure and disgruntled staff that His Excellency inherited in 2017. We are committed to continuing the transition that has resulted in BOST becoming profitable.

They ended by expressing gratitude to the Minister of Energy for his counsel and admonition.
