Information Ministry Orients and Enrolls PROs onto BONSU Platform
The Ministry of Information, State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), together with the Information Services Department (ISD) have organised an orientation workshop to enrol Heads of Communications and Public Relations Officer/Managers of Specified Entities under the supervision of SIGA onto the BONSU platform.
Background
BONSU is an online Public Relations Management platform instituted by the Information Services Department (ISD) to provide public relations support to Ministries, Departments, and other State Agencies.
The decision to include spokespersons of all State Institutions under the supervision of SIGA on the platform was taken at a Cabinet meeting held in Peduase. This is to ensure uniformity and timely access to information on governmental issues.
Keynote Address
The Director-General of SIGA, Mr. Stephen Asamoah-Boateng who delivered the keynote address expressed his pleasure with what he termed as an “unprecedented event”, lauding the Information Ministry for making such a ground-breaking initiative.
He challenged the Public Relations Professionals of Specified Entities to develop new strategies of story-telling that create a positive awareness of not just government policies and activities, but also the success stories of their respective organisations.
Mr. Asamoah-Boateng highlighted the disconnect between management and public relations professionals as a big challenge and pledged the commitment of his outfit to provide the needed support to surmount this hurdle in a bid to ensure a better coordinated public relations effort by all Specified Entities.

The programme had in attendance: the Minister for Information Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Chief Director of the Ministry of Information Mrs. Mamle Andrews, and Advisor to the President on Media and Strategic Communications Madam Florence Oboshie Sai-Cofie, all of whom took turns to address the participants at the workshop.
