The board, management, and staff of Phyto-Riker (GIHOC) Pharmaceuticals Ltd (PRG), have launched their 60th Anniversary.

The launch of the celebrations took place at the forecourt of the company’s premises at Dome near Achimota on the Accra-Nsawam Road. The theme for the anniversary is “Trusted Quality for Great Health: 60 Years of Continuous Impact”,

Madam Olivia Opoku-Adomah, Head of Performance Monitoring and Evaluation (PME), led a delegation from SIGA to join board members, management and staff of the company at the event.

Background

GIHOC Pharmaceuticals Ltd, formerly the State Pharmaceutical Corporation was established in 1962, but it’s factory facility was completed in 1967. In 1998 through a competitive privatisation process, Phyto-Riker Pharmaceutical Incorporated acquired it.

Welcome Address

The Chief Executive Officer of PRG, Madam Theresa Yamson in her welcome address, gave an account of PRG’s history. She also highlighted the pharmaceutical giant’s invaluable contributions toward ensuring the availability of high-quality pharmaceutical products at an affordable cost. “We do not only cater for Ghana but the West African sub-region and beyond” she added.

The launch climaxed with the unveiling of a 3D signage of PRG’s new corporate logo.

Present at the event were the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ga East Municipal Assembly Madam Elizabeth Kaakie Mann and representatives of the Food & Drugs Authority (FDA). The Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Association of Ghana (PMAG) was also represented.
