SIGA D-G Calls on Registrar of Companies
The Ag. Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), Mr. John Boadu has paid a working visit to the Office of the Registrar of Companies in Accra (ORC).
The meeting served as the Director General’s formal introduction to the ORC team and laid the groundwork for a strategic collaboration aimed at bolstering corporate governance in Specified Entities.
In his opening remarks, Mr. John Boadu commended the ORC for its significant contributions to Ghana and emphasized that his visit was not only to familiarize himself with the crucial functions of the ORC but also to establish a collaborative partnership. The goal is to enhance the registration processes for Specified Entities, thereby elevating corporate governance standards and contributing to a more transparent and accountable business environment.
“ At SIGA , we believe in the power of collaboration. We are ready to work closely with you to foster a robust and compliant business environment by ensuring the proper registration of our Specified Entities”, he stated.
The Director-General’s visit was met with a warm welcome from the Registrar of Companies, Mrs. Jemima Oware who extended congratulations on his new appointment. She expressed commitment to a fruitful collaboration, pledging to work closely with SIGA to update records, ensuring accuracy and compliance in the registration of all Specified Entities.
“We look forward to a dynamic partnership with SIGA. Together, our aim is to enhance our records by incorporating Specified Entities that are not yet registered and assisting those endeavoring to update their records. This collaboration aligns with our mutual commitment to maintaining an efficient and transparent business registration process”, she remarked.
Delving into pertinent issues surrounding business registration and compliance, the meeting concluded with a shared commitment to address challenges faced by Specified Entities. Subsequent meetings were scheduled to ensure alignment of all Specified Entities with SIGA and ORC, reinforcing the regulatory framework for a thriving business environment.
Accompanying the Director-General for the visit were Mr. Stephen Asiedu, Ag. General Manager, Operations, Mrs. Helen Addo, Board Secretary, and SIGA Divisional Heads
