SIGA DIVAs Relaunched with New Leadership
SIGA DIVAs, an all-female staff association of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), has been relaunched in a spirited ceremony.
The event took place on August 16, 2024, at Burma Camp Sports Complex during the 3rd edition of SIGA’s annual staff bonding event “Jogging to Bond.”
The relaunch was led by SIGA’s two Acting General Managers (GMs), Mr. Stephen Asiedu and Mr. George Ofori. They emphasized the importance of empowering women within the organisation, stating that “empowered women, empower organisations.”
The induction of the new leadership team was conducted by the Founder and Patron of the SIGA DIVAs, Mrs. Afua Frempong, who expressed her pride in the group’s growth and potential. “This is more than a relaunch; it’s a renewed commitment to our shared values and goals,” she said.
To symbolize their unity and strength, all the ladies were given pink headbands before a celebratory cake-cutting ceremony. Madam Valerie Ashitey, the President of the group thanked members for their support, saying, “We are honoured by your trust and excited to drive the SIGA DIVAs to new heights. Much will be done to ensure we thrive and make a meaningful impact in SIGA.”
The vision of the Association is to cultivate a supportive network of women dedicated to personal and professional excellence within SIGA and to promote a culture of collaboration, learning and advocacy for gender equality. With new leadership and a clear vision, the SIGA DIVAs are set to continue making a lasting difference within SIGA and beyond as their slogan says, “Girls compete, women empower, let’s all win together”.
