SIGA Donates to Bless the Children International Orphanage

The State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) has made donation to Bless the Children International Orphanage in the Eastern Region.

The donation forms part of SIGA’s 5th anniversary celebrations.

Officials from the Authority, including Mr. Joseph Sarpong, who led the SIGA delegation, and representatives from the Public Services Secretariat and a few community members attended the event.

Mr. Sarpong highlighted the significance of the donation within the context of SIGA’s ongoing mission to drive positive social change and foster good corporate governance among Specified Entities. “Our 5th anniversary is not only a time to reflect on our achievements but also an opportunity to give back to the communities that we serve. Today, we are here to support the Bless the Children International Orphanage, recognising the incredible work they do in providing a safe and nurturing environment for these children. This is a token of our appreciation for the dedication of the caregivers and the resilience of the children,” he said.

Mrs. Afua Frempong, Manager Corporate Affairs, also offered advice on three key principles which she believed will guide the children towards a successful future if adhered to. She said, “I urge you to live a Godly and upright life, take your education seriously, as it is the foundation for a brighter future, and always show respect for authority, as it shapes character and builds discipline’’.

Mrs. Grace Yeboah, the Manager of the Bless the Children International Orphanage, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the donation, stating, “This support from SIGA is incredibly timely and much appreciated. It will go a long way in helping us meet the daily needs of the children and enhance their learning environment. We are grateful to SIGA for their kindness and for choosing to celebrate their anniversary with us.”

The visit also featured an interactive session where SIGA officials spent time with the children, engaging in fun activities, and giving them sound advice for the future.

The delegation included Ms. Louisa Aubin Manager, General Manager Operations secretariat, Ms. Thelma Agyenim-Boateng, Manager, HR, Ms. Gladys Nyarkpo, Asst. Manager Governance, Risk and Compliance, and Mr. Monte-Christian Provencal, Programme Officer, Public Services Secretariat.

The donated items included essential goods, such as bags of rice, cartons of milk, toiletries, drinks and water. Additionally, the children were presented with school supplies which brought smiles and excitement to their faces. This gesture is one of many initiatives planned by SIGA to mark its 5th anniversary. Under the theme “Five Years of Championing Specified Entities’ Governance and Growth: The Challenges and the Way Forward,”.
