
SIGA Sensitizes Bui Management on Public Investment Management Framework
The State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) has organized a specialized training session on Public Investment Management Framework for the Management of Bui Power Authority (BPA)’
The training which took place at the BPA Height in Accra is aimed at building the capacity of the Bui team and to equip them with the essential skills required for efficient execution of the framework. This ensures that projects are properly prepared, evaluated, and executed in line with the Public Financial Management (Public Investment Management) Regulations, 2020 (L.I. 2411).
The SIGA team led by Mr. Charles Amoako-Atta, Manager for Investment & Wealth Creation, began with a brief overview of SIGA’s mandate and the objective of the sensitization exercise, he then delved into the various aspects of the Public Investment Management Framework, touching particularly on the legal structures, institutional structures and the public investment management procedures consisting of the investment requests, processes and documentation.
“We are embarking on this sensitization drive to equip Specified Entities with the required information to ensure sound public investment execution. Bui Power’s compliance is commendable thus we confident that this sensitization will streamline how our specified entities undertake public investment projects, upholding the highest standards of governance to eliminate undue delays in undertaking such projects.” Mr. Amoako-Atta stated.
Mr. Maximillian Acquah, Director PME at BPA, expressed appreciation for the session, emphasizing BPA’s dedication to regulatory compliance. “We are grateful to SIGA for this enlightening session,” stated Mr. Maximillian. “We look forward to future in-depth training with our project team to enhance our understanding and implementation of the framework.”
The sensitization program concluded with engaging discussions and valuable recommendations. SIGA remains committed to continued sensitization efforts to ensure that Specified Entities are equipped with knowledge and awareness of investment procedures and laws, resulting in efficient execution of capital projects, and the maximization of the shareholder’s wealth.
