SIGA Strengthens Partnership with GEA

 

 

A delegation from the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) has engaged the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and leadership of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA).

The delegation from SIGA was led by Mr. John Boadu, Ag. Director-General.  The purpose of the visit was to formally introduce SIGA’s new Ag. Director-General and to strengthen partnership with the agency.

The delegation was warmly received by Mrs. Kosi Yankey-Ayeh, CEO of GEA, and her team. Mrs. Yankey-Ayeh expressed her delight, noting that it marked the first instance of such a high-level delegation from SIGA visiting her outfit.

 

The meeting commenced with discussions on avenues for collaboration and mutual benefit.

Mrs. Yankey-Ayeh outlined GEA’s initiatives, targeting tailored support services, capacity-building programs, and improved finance access for entrepreneurs across diverse sectors nationwide. She revealed that GEA had successfully supported an impressive 700,000 beneficiaries through its diverse interventions.

In his remarks, Mr. Boadu commended GEA’s proactive approach in creating enabling environment for entrepreneurship to thrive. However, he emphasized the importance of adhering to sound corporate governance principles, urging GEA’s leadership to enhance its engagement with SIGA. This acknowledgment was based on SIGA’s historical track record in overseeing Specified Entities to fulfill their respective mandates.

In the Director-General’s delegation were Mr. Stephen Asiedu, Ag. General Manager of Operations, Madam Alexandra Totoe, Acting General Manager of Finance & Administration, along with divisional heads and management staff from SIGA.
