VRA Hosts Gambia Finance Ministry Delegation

 

A Gambian delegation on a study tour to Ghana has paid a working visit to the Volta River Authority at Akosombo.

The team from the Gambian Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs who are the guest of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) are in the country to learn from how SIGA are coordinating the activities and operations of Specified Entities.

They were welcomed by the Mrs. Rhoda Arthur, Principal Community Relations Officer and Mr. Thomas Ameyaw Head of Human Resources Thermal Generation to the Volta Hotel and hosted to a breakfast.

After breakfast, they moved to the VRA Conference room where Ing. Kweku Sarpong, Ag. Director Hydro Generation and his team made a presentation on the operations of VRA and the Akosombo Dam.

They were taken on a guided tour of the Akosombo Dam to have a practical understanding of its management and operation.

BACKGROUND

The delegation from the Gambian Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs (GMOFEA) have been in Ghana since the 29th of October on a Gambia and World Bank sponsored tour to under study SIGA following the setting up of the State-Owned Enterprise Department in their country.
