Senior officials from the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) recently paid a working visit to the Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), Prof. Michael Kpessa Whyte, to discuss strategic alignment and compliance with governance and reporting obligations.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in line with SIGA’s mandate to oversee and support the performance of Specified Entities. Key among the discussions were strategies to ensure timely submission of management accounts and audited financial statements, a critical requirement for effective oversight and transparency.
Prof. Kpessa Whyte emphasized the importance of timely financial reporting in building public trust and enhancing decision-making within the public sector. He commended SSNIT for its proactive engagement and reaffirmed SIGA’s readiness to provide the necessary guidance and support to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
The SSNIT team expressed its commitment to working closely with SIGA to streamline internal processes and improve reporting efficiency. The two institutions also explored ways to enhance accountability, align operational goals, and support national development through stronger corporate governance.
This engagement reflects SIGA’s ongoing efforts to build effective partnerships with Specified Entities, ensuring that public institutions operate with transparency, efficiency, and a shared commitment to sustainable development.
