Staff Durbar

The State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) held the inaugural edition of its Biannual Staff Durbar for the 2025 calendar year on Thursday, 10th July. The event marked the first official staff durbar under the leadership of the newly appointed Director-General, Professor Michael Kpessa-Whyte, and the new General Manager of Operations, Madam Millicent Aguwine Atuguba.

In his welcome address, the Director-General expressed appreciation to staff for their continued dedication and professionalism. He underscored the importance of unity, collaboration, and a shared sense of purpose in delivering on SIGA’s objectives. “We must operate with a common vision and work together in alignment to achieve the Authority’s mandate,” he remarked.

The occasion also provided an opportunity to formally introduce other newly appointed members of staff, including Mr. Frank Akekyi, Acting Head of the Human Resource and Administration Division; Mr. Andrews Laryea, Acting Head of the Information Technology Division; and Mr. Isaac Kwabena Ofoe, Acting Head of Internal Audit.

A key highlight of the durbar was the open forum session, which provided staff with the opportunity to freely express their concerns, offer suggestions, and share constructive feedback on various aspects of the Authority’s operations. This interactive session fostered an atmosphere of openness and inclusivity, encouraging meaningful dialogue between staff and leadership. The Director-General, Professor Michael Kpessa-Whyte, responded to all submissions transparently, demonstrating management’s readiness to listen, engage, and act in the best interest of both staff welfare and institutional progress.

The durbar concluded on a positive note, with staff departing with a renewed sense of purpose and a shared commitment to the Authority’s mission. The gathering reaffirmed management’s dedication to fostering a culture of active staff engagement and institutional accountability.
