The State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), together with leaders from across the public enterprises sector, has commiserated with the families of the victims of the recent helicopter crash that claimed the lives of two Ministers of State, along with six other senior government officials and military personnel.
On Friday, August 8, 2025, SIGA’s Director-General, Prof. Michael Kpessa-Whyte, led a high-powered delegation of Specified Entity heads to visit the bereaved families. The delegation’s central message was one of unity in grief and recognition of the dedicated service the departed rendered to Ghana.
The delegation first visited the family of the late Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, followed by that of the late Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, and concluded at the home of the late Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Mohammad Muniru Limuna.
Prof. Kpessa-Whyte, speaking on behalf of SIGA and the public enterprises sector, extended profound condolences to the families of Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, and Alhaji Mohammad Muniru Limuna. “We extend our heartfelt condolences and stand with the nation in mourning this devastating loss,” he said, noting the invaluable contributions each had made to the country’s development.
At each home, the delegation offered prayers and words of comfort, paying tribute to the legacy of service left behind by the departed. The Director-General and members of the delegation also signed the book of condolences, leaving heartfelt messages of solidarity.
