The State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) has been honoured with the Digital Inclusion & Advocacy Excellence Award at the ICT Recognition Awards 2025, held on Friday, 29th August 2025, as part of the National ICT Week celebrations.
The award recognizes SIGA’s outstanding contribution to Ghana’s digital transformation agenda, particularly through its strategic collaboration with the National Information Technology Agency (NITA). This partnership has enabled SIGA to spearhead efforts in strengthening the digital capacity of Specified Entities (SEs), aligning them with the government’s vision of building a digitally driven and innovation-led economy. By integrating governance and accountability with technology, SIGA ensures that SEs are better equipped to operate efficiently in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Receiving the award on behalf of SIGA were Mr. Joseph Sarpong, Acting Head of Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), and Mr. Andrew Annan Laryea, Acting Head of Information Technology (IT).
The awards ceremony climaxed the National ICT Week 2025, held from 25th to 28th August under the theme “Ghana as Africa’s Digital Trade Hub — Innovation, Policy, and Partnerships for the Future.” Organized by NITA under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovation, the event brought together government officials, industry leaders, academics, and development partners to deliberate on policies, strategies, and innovations shaping Ghana’s digital future.
