SIGA Staff Participate in M&A Training Programme in Partnership with EY Ghana

M&A Training EY

In a significant step toward deepening institutional capacity, selected members of staff of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) participated in an intensive two-day Business Valuation and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) training programme from 26th to 27th February 2026. The programme, organised in partnership with Ernst & Young (EY) Ghana, formed part of SIGA’s ongoing commitment to equipping its personnel with the technical knowledge and strategic expertise required to effectively regulate the entities under its oversight.

The training was officially opened on Day One by Madam Alice Osei Okrah, Lead of Strategies and Transactions at EY Ghana, who warmly welcomed participants and expressed appreciation to the leadership of SIGA for their foresight and collaborative spirit in bringing the initiative to fruition. She expressed optimism that the training would mark the beginning of a strengthened relationship between both organisations, and signal the prospect of even greater collaborations in the future.

Delivering a statement on behalf of SIGA’s management, Mr. Samuel Ankomah, the Acting General Manager (Finance & Administration) affirmed the Authority’s strong appreciation for the collaboration, and expressed confidence that it would evolve into a sustained partnership capable of strengthening governance and performance across SIGA’s Specified Entities. He urged participants to approach the two days with openness and intellectual curiosity; to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and engage fully; emphasizing that the investment being made in their development was, ultimately, an investment in the broader strengthening of the Specified Entities.

Over the course of the two days, participants were taken through key themes, foundational concepts, and the full lifecycle of mergers and acquisitions, equipping them with the analytical tools and strategic insights necessary to navigate M&A transactions.

The programme was brought to a close on Day Two by the General Manager (Operations), Madam Millicent Atuguba, who delivered the closing remarks. Madam Atuguba expressed gratitude to EY Ghana for their expertise and professionalism throughout the training, and called on participants to translate the knowledge gained into practical application; particularly in addressing the evolving M&A landscape within SIGA’s Specified Entities.

The event concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony, during which Madam Atuguba personally presented training certificates to all participants in recognition of their successful completion of the programme.
