SIGA Champions Gender and AI Integration at PES Training

SIGA PES Gender

The State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) has reaffirmed its commitment to embedding gender-responsive and technology-enabled practices in the Specified Entities. This commitment was strongly expressed at the opening of a two-day sensitisation and training programme organised by the Public Enterprises Secretariat (PES) at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra on September 17, 2025.

The programme, themed “Catalysing Gender-Responsive Policies for Equitable Futures,” brought together leaders from the public and private sectors to explore how gender policy and Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be leveraged to transform institutional performance and deliver inclusive outcomes for citizens.

Speaking at the opening, General Manager for Operations at SIGA, Madam Millicent Atuguba, stated: “We at SIGA see gender responsiveness and technology not as optional extras but as essential levers for resetting Specified Entities and strengthening public-sector delivery. We are ready to work with the Public Enterprises Secretariat and all stakeholders to ensure that these practices deliver real results for Ghanaians.”

Designed to move beyond theory into practice, the training featured an in-depth presentation on the Gender Policy and its application in public-sector governance delivered by Madam Lovia Bamfo, Director of PES. Mr. Isaac Kofi Marfo, an AI facilitator, introduced participants to Gamma, an AI-powered tool for creating dynamic presentations and reports, demonstrating how such innovations can optimise reporting and improve content creation.

The World Health Organization (WHO) in the course of the training also delivered a solidarity message, commending the Public Enterprises Secretariat for an initiative that aligns with global priorities on equity, inclusion and innovation.

Day one drew participants from the Office of the Vice President, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ghana Tourism Authority, Environmental Protection Authority, Promasidor, WHO, UNESCO, Population Council, Access Bank Ghana, GCB Bank PLC, Fidelity Bank, Stanbic Bank, and FanMilk Ghana reflecting broad cross-sectoral interest in gender-responsive, AI-driven transformation.
